A friendly basketball game between Holy Cross College of Carigara and Jugaban National High School's basketball teams shook the KanGara Gymnasium yesterday, on the 5th of November, with a 79-83 win in favor of HCCC's "Crusaders" basketball team.

The friendly basketball game between the HCCC and JNHS started with a program at KanGara Gymnasium at 2:50 pm, carried by the master of ceremony teacher from JNHS Mr. Nino Paul Mico Macabansag and Ms. Vanessa Aimee Alecha Drilon. Before the Game, an exhibition from the JNHS marching band was witnessed followed by the opening prayer and singing of the national anthem. A few words were then delivered by Mr. Lenard Paulo B. Padulla (Head Teacher I of JNHS) for the purpose of the game, and Ms. Chandy C. Dangate (Head Teacher III of JNHS) called for the match to begin.

During the game, defeaning chants and cheers were mirrored through the entire gymnasium by the supportive students from both schools having to show their full support for their team. The first five of HCCC's team were Fedrick Arintok, Anton dela Cruz, Jefferson Casaus, Richard Olvido, and Nazarene Biscante, with a score of 17-20 in the lead. Shots were taken by Mislos, Ivan Sabillo, Sam Pami, Kiven Saveret, Richardson Viojan, Mark Narido, Patrick Ramirez, Jeoff Leaño, Tiu, Llaneta, Egano, and Aculana with their Coach Allan dela Cruz justifying the scores in the second quarter in 32-38, followed by another leading score in the third quarter with a score of 49-57, still in favor of HCCC. The hot exchange of points was a momentous highlight in the fourth quarter of the game as the players of Jugaban National High School boosted their strategy drawing into a tie, which triggered the crowd's cheers to grow louder and bolder. A tie-breaking score was soon achieved by Casaus, challenging the JNHS team's spirit to score back-to-back. As the timer rang for the end of the quarter, glory roared for the HCCC team's victory with a final score of 79-83 in triumph to HCCC's Crusaders.

“Happy and at the same time proud of the achievements of our students. The school wants all students to excel not only in academics but also in virtues, sports, and every talent and potential that the students possess” said Sister M. Kathleen L. Laran, OSF, admitting the first game to be the last due to the intense match.

A mood of overwhelming joy occupied the gymnasium's celebration as "happy" define Arintok's winning feeling of the match, followed by the picture taking with the players, sponsors, and well-respected heads.
