by Cassandra Aguilos

"After two years of not having this activity, are you excited for our intramurals?" Rev. Fr. Wilson Chu declared the grand opening of HCCC Intramurals 2022 yesterday (November 16, 2022) in Holy Cross College of Carigara with the theme "HCCC promotes Franciscan Virtues through Sports Amidst Pandemic."

After two years of COVID-19 impeding cases causing a halt to all physical activities, it is a joy to all of the students in HCCC as the opening of the Intramurals took its place yesterday at the covered court. Assembly head count took its place first, with the Team 3(Joy Heralds) winning its first 100 points, followed by Team 2(Love Disciples) with 80 points, Team 4(Truth Prophets) having 60 points, and Team 1 with the least number of students who have attended the assembly at exactly 7:30 am with 40 points.

During the assembly, two winners were drawn in the raffle from Team 1 and Team 3, followed by the Eucharist Celebration in the HCCC Parish Church, concluding the oath-taking ceremony of the student council. The raising of the Philippine flag by Ken Ivan Obaob(HSSC President) was assisted by Kent Reyes(HSSC Vice-President) shortly after the mass by the conducting MAPEH teacher, Ms. Christel Joy B. De San Pedro, followed by the Raising of the School Flag by Mrs. Marisa Palce(SAO Coordinator), assisted by Ms. Regine O. Llames(Sports Club Coordinator).

To officially start the Intramurals, opening remarks by Mr. Andre Cuesta offered important reminders committing to sportsmanship and the theme of this year's Intramurals that neither coronavirus could stop us from moving forward. It is then declared by Rev. Fr. Wilson Chu that the HCCC Intramurals 2022 is officially open, with Pam Jersy Eslira(President of HCCC Sports Club) lighting the torch. Lastly, for the morning activities, banner raising ended with Team 4 along with its representatives Angel Dandan and Kim Mislos securing first place with 100 points, 80 points for Team 3, 60 points for Team 1, and 40 points for Team 2.
