Finally, after two years, the Holy Cross College of Carigara (High School Department) revive its live enthusiastic audience in the search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, on November 16, 2022, at two in the afternoon at HCCC’s covered court.
The program started with a lively presentation from our Dance Ensemble Club opening a spectacular show for the respective team contestants to enter, followed by the introduction of our participants. Introducing Debra Kim Llaneta and Rojan Lester Rocha from Team 1 - Peace Builders; Macky Dehayco and Francis Joseph Villablanca from Team 2 - Love Disciples; Team 3 - Joy Heralds with Princess Jaina Ronquillo and Jefferson Casaus and lastly; Janelle Quintana and Jayriel Liethan Esta from Team 4 - Truth Prophets.
The program was carried flawlessly by Sir Arjo Avila and Ma’am Mary Joy Meneses starting with the introduction of all the contestants to the judges, quickly followed by the Talent Portion. Competitive contestants showcased their talents through dancing and singing, playing musical instruments, and putting the parts of a bicycle together, interpretive dancing and Tagalog spoken poetry, and traditional dance and acting by the team contestants respectively. Next was the School Uniform attire, where they flaunted the new HCCC uniform released only last October. For a short break, picked members of the Dance Ensemble Club performed “Shut Down” by a popular South Korean girl group Blackpink. After the short break, the show continued with the Sports Attire. We have Team 1 with a yellow and white badminton-themed outfit, followed by the white and red colored baseball-themed attire by Team 2, and a spectacular intro by Team 3 dressed in a gun ranged-inspired outfit, then Team 4 with the archery look. After that, a performance was given to the audience by the HCCC Acoustic Band with the famous songs Huling El Bimbo, Harana, Hanggang Kailan, and more which made the venue a mini-concert. After that, the contenders showed off their stunning long gowns and the most formal tuxedo they had.
Then the awarding of special awards and the coronation of winners took place. For Mr. and Ms. Photogenic, Francis Joseph Villablanca and Princess Jaina Ronquillo got the sash. Jefferson Casaus from Team 3 and Macky Dehayco got the People’s Choice Award (the voting system was 50% online voting, and another 50% was from the tickets). Both participants from Team 3, Princess Jaina Ronquillo and Jefferson Casaus for The Best in School Uniform Awardee, Best in Sports Attire Awardee, and Best in Production Awardee. Janelle Quintana and Jayriel Liethan Esta from Team 4 were awarded the Best in Talent award. Ms. Macky Dehayco from Team 2 and Mr. Jayriel Liethan Esta from Team 4 got the Mr. and Ms. Eloquence award. Without the relative scores from recent presentation thus only considering the question and answer portion, the third placer for the Mr. And Ms. Intramurals is Ms. Debra Kim Llaneta from Team 1 and Mr. Francis Joseph Villablanca from Team 2, who received a sash, certificate, trophy, and crown. Second place goes to Ms. Janelle Quintana from Team 4 and Mr. Jefferson Casaus from Team 3. And the most important award of all is- of course- the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, which were given to Mr. Jayriel Liethan Esta from Team 4 and Ms. Macky Dehayco from Team 2. This leaves Ms. Princess Jaina Ronquillo from Team 3 and Mr. Rojan Lester Rocha from Team 1 in First place.
We congratulate all the participants for achieving such a milestone, the teams who have shown their full support for their candidates, and the coordinators, judges, and hosts who have put this event into a beautiful memorable dusk.
