“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light and love to those who need it the most.”

As we feel again the ambiance of the yuletide season, Holy Cross College of Carigara had once again held the Bundle of Joy Program. The same as last year, goods and money were donated by the Holy Crossians during the first and second canvasses which were held last November 30, 2022, and December 8, 2022. The money that was accumulated was used to purchase additional goods for the bundled gifts. This program is a gift-giving pursuit to our pedicab drivers and the Provincial jail inmates.

The opening of the program started with Holy Crossians approaching the Christmas season by giving their bundled gifts to houses around West Visoria firstly singing cheerful Christmas songs during the house-to-house Christmas caroling.

The faculty and staff later then went to the Provincial Jail Hall together with the OSF Sisters to give the inmates bundled gifts and food packs.

As much as the Holy Crossians are grateful of the pedicab drivers, the pedicab drivers were also overwhelmed and thankful of the humble bundled gifts that were given to them by the school,

“Makuri it kinabuhi, 14 years old pala ako han nagtikang ako pamasada, ngan first time ko pala maka experience hin sugad hini. Maupay ha kasing-kasing na maka karawat hin sugad hini, salamat, damo nga salamat” said by one of the pedicab drivers we interviewed.

With an acknowledgment of the Mr. and Ms. Bundle of Joy candidates 2022, this movement wouldn't be possible without the help of our ever-generous candidates and their respective classes in leading the joy and in making this event a big blessing to the community.

Kudos to the HCCC family who had joined hearts and hands to put together their shared blessings in a bundle, they were able to make around 1500 happy hearts. The smiling faces and genuine gratefulness of the people warmed the hearts of the Holy Crossians which inspired them to continue their heartfelt services as children of God. The Bundle of Joy Program will continue to make more smiling faces and happy hearts in the following years, as Sister Kathleen hopes for it to become a tradition that Holy Crossians will continue to do for the people to look forward to.

Sharing with you the Glory, the Wonder, and the Miracle of this Holy Season. We wish you a joyous and Blessed Christmas and New Year!

“Christmas is forever, not for just one day. For loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away.”
