In the spirit of compassion and community, the Holy Cross College of Carigara Incorporated (HCCCI) not only brightened the lives of tricycle drivers and brought joy to the residents of Barangay Canlampay, but also extended their benevolence to the inmates from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Provincial Jail of Carigara Leyte. On December 16, 2023, the event commenced at 8 A.M., bringing together the Holy Crossians to share the joy of the festive season with those who tirelessly navigate the bustling place of Carigara.
The excitement among the Holy Crossians was palpable as they set out to distribute the approximately 1,500 gifts to the tricycle drivers, inmates, and residents of Canlampay who eagerly awaited this annual gesture of kindness. Each received a package that not only contained practical items to make their daily routines a bit brighter but also carried the warmth and goodwill of the Holy Cross community.
For the past several years, HCCCI has made it a yearly practice to give gifts from different barangay, inmates, and express gratitude to the hardworking tricycle drivers who play an essential role in the daily lives of the community. This tradition not only symbolizes the spirit of generosity but also fosters a strong bond between the school and the local residents.
In a world often filled with hustle and bustle, the Holy Cross College of Carigara Incorporated stands as a beacon of hope, reminding us all of the profound impact a simple act of generosity can have on the lives of those around us. This tri-fold approach to gift-giving, encompassing tricycle drivers, inmates, and the residents of Barangay Canlampay, exemplifies HCCCI's commitment to inclusivity and community building, setting an inspiring precedent for collective goodwill.
